Lions have long been a symbol of strength and courage. With their golden fur and thick manes (for males), they rule the African savannas. These big cats live in prides, working together to hunt zebras, antelopes, and other prey. Interestingly, lionesses do most of the hunting while males defend the territory. A lion’s mighty roar can be heard up to five miles away, warning rivals to stay away!
