Seahorses are some of the most magical-looking creatures in the ocean. With their horse-shaped heads, curled tails, and upright swimming style, these tiny fish look like something out of a fairytale! Found in shallow coastal waters around the world, seahorses love to cling to seaweed and coral with their tails as they drift with the current.
They’re not strong swimmers, but they make up for it with stealth and camouflage. Seahorses come in many colors and can change shades to blend into their surroundings and avoid predators.

In a surprising twist of nature, it’s the male seahorse that gets pregnant! He carries the babies in a special pouch and gives birth to dozens—or even hundreds—of tiny seahorses at once.
